Prologue

This story is based on Bea’s story, “All in the Cards”. It’s The first story in an anthology titled “Men in Petticoats” found at Smashwords and at Amazon. I encourage you to go there and buy it. The six stories in this book all deal with the feminization of men. All of the males are different in character from foreign fighters to American cowboys - but they all suffer from a hidden need - they want to be humiliated by women. At more than 52 thousand words it is reasonably priced at $3.99. Bea was a prolific author and hosted a series of websites to display her work. The most recent is, “Bea’s TV Station”, which is still up. “All in the Cards” is no longer available for free as it was when I first read it. To read it you need to buy “Men in Petticoats”. Sadly Bea passed on over four years ago; a great loss to TG fiction fans everywhere. I encourage you to buy her work. While I will include a synopsis, I can’t give you more than a thumbnail sketch without violating copyright.

It’s been too long since I’ve been here; I’ve been busy working on longer works (soon to be published on Amazon) as well as non-TG writing. Recently I found this older story that has not been presented before. It follows the familiar diary format, somewhat similar to my story “Stupid Diary”.

Spread some jam on a small child, though I reckon that’s a waste of good jam and just giving the child a jam sandwich would do the trick.

On the day I left to go home for the holiday, I packed my bag and looked at the one I had done for my wall. It was next to the catalogue picture I had bought, and was a picture of Gloria, Judith, me, Monica, and Sally, as I remembered us on the first day that I had told anyone my secret. We were all in our jogging outfits, in the park, with me in the middle. I had straight hair and no make-up, but I still looked like a tomboy. That day was the first day on the journey that had brought me here. They do say that every journey begins with the first step, and that was the day that I had taken a leap of faith, on the way to becoming a ‘Girl with a Curl’.

No one knows exactly when the aliens came and began slowly infiltrating the human race. Twenty years ago, when I was twenty-nine, the news began reporting incidents of strange behavior from people around the world. I was just starting my neurosurgery practice at the time. The medical community believed this was a new strain of virus that was spreading at epidemic proportions. Initially it was thought to be a variant of the Vika virus as it seemed to affect the brain first.

The farmhouse table groaned beneath casseroles that reeked of clove and false piety. John’s mother—a woman who starched her hymns—leaned in, her gaze lingering on Lanie’s sun-kissed cheeks and the demure lace dress that was Georgia. “What a vision,” she sighed as if this moment could be preserved like a jar of pickled beets.
