In a near-future world not too different from our own, homelessness has become a hot topic. Citizens are demanding *something* has to be done about it. This is the start of a story about what happens when drastic plans created by poorly informed but enthusiastic committees are put into action.

This Chapter deals with how Rahul will react to the news and his new Journey.

After a relaxing day at the beach, there were three major events that week which drew Carla even further into girlhood, acceptance by the girls, learning more about what it means to be a girl, and a showdown with the Headmistress. All in all, a busy week for Carla.

Zoë and I soon got through her homework, once I explained a few things to her it didn’t take her long. “Thanks again Carla, you’ve been a big help and a good friend, It will be a shame when all this is over and you go back to being a boy, skirts and dresses suit you.”

"Trust me," he said, grinning. "That's not even in the top 2000 of weirdest things on the internet."

“ What on earth do you think you are doing Carl?” Dad growled at me as he caught sight of me for the first time dressed in girls’ clothes.

“ I am trying to get the school to change its dress code, I wore a skirt as a protest and it all just snowballed. The school insisted that if I wanted to look like a girl, I needed to do it properly and Mum had the same idea, both of them trying to embarrass me into giving up

The first one to volunteer was a young man who had had shoulder length hair and it was colored in faded streaks of rainbow. He wore John Lennon-esque glasses and he looked like he had seen better days…

Carl gets deeper and deeper into becoming Carla.

“ Morning Carla, did you sleep well?” Mum was being matter-of-fact about the way I was dressed, as if it was just a normal day. “I didn’t think that you would want a full breakfast this morning, so I have just put out a banana and yoghurt for you, like Cassie has.”

“Stop stressing, Cupcake,” Jordan told me. “Hollywood has not forgotten you. As if.”

“Last month I was... just a high school student. Rory’s kind of…a big thing in my life now,” I said.
