That night, my ghost came back. Lisa was, as typical of her, in a deep sleep, so I didn’t try to rouse her. Instead, I bravely asked the specter, “Who are you?”

Once again, she moved toward the center of the room. As it moved, I heard a child’s voice say, “Help me.” Then, it disappeared near the center of the room as before. Somehow, I knew that this was a little girl, but I can’t explain how I knew that.

On January 14, 2018 I posted the 1st Chapter of Time on My Hands. Today, June 14, 2019, I posted the final and 75th weekly Chapter. That’s a mind boggling 30,0042 words. I had no idea when I began the story it would run this long. I spent at least 5 hours of research for every hour I wrote, and averaged 4 hours of writing per chapter.

I want to thank the readers who stuck with the story. The kudos are/were greatly appreciated and the comments eagerly read and sometimes used to adjust the story line.

Part Nine

Malak needed little exploring to find the control room for the operation. It was the second largest chamber in the building, after the internal garage. While most of the building was nearly empty, this place was full of people busy doing things which at first glance would not have been out of place in any modern office. At the far end from the double doors of the main entrance was a large desk, on a low dais. There sat someone Malak was surprised to see. Though he was not nearly as surprised as the occupants of the room were when he became visible.

Alex Rios’ furtive high school transition is suspected by friends, revealed to a lover and exposed by his enemies. With his intellectual hauteur torn away, he becomes the girl he longed, and was destined, to be.

Cheshire takes another sip of her tea, while she waited for Collins to wake-up. She couldn’t wait to see his reaction. She watches him as he slowly wakes up.

“Good morning, sleepy head.”

Collins goes to pull his gun from under his pillow, but it wasn't there. He looks at Cheshire as she stood nearby. She had a coffee mug in her hand as she slowly took a sip from it.

Cheshire looks at him with a predatory look on her face “what did I say about going after my family?”

This is a story I have had on the back burner for awhile and I decided to start writing this again to share with all of you. As far as descriptions go I had no idea what to put for this as it’s a bit different than what you might expect. This isn’t my typical story but I hope you all enjoy this journey.

THE WAGER

I know Mand and I had Schnitzel earlier and we had cake at Ron’s but by the time we reached the Ahrtal my stomach was rumbling.

"What’re we having for dinner?”
"You can’t be hungry again,” Mand opined.

She walked down in front of the rooms, as leisurely as normal. She stopped at the girl’s door to listen a moment. She just nodded, to signal Kelsey that they were right the girls where in there. Stepping up to room 246 she knocked softly. The fat sleaze ball Ed opened it.

“Sandy, please come in.” He said.

The Door to Nowhere was open. KC gaped at this marvel in childish disbelief. His life had been a montage of daydreams and fantasies up to this point. Months ago, he'd imagined that the door might open into Narnia or some other magical land. But he'd tested that particular fancy dozens of times; he knew that the door was merely a facade, nothing else. His mind refused to accept what his eyes were seeing. Yet, here he was, the door was open, and there was light coming from somewhere behind it...

Geoff estranged from his UK relatives is a widower living in Portland. He is in his late forties when he faces the bad midlife crisis of being forced into retirement. Unlike many it might be one of the best things to have ever happened to him recently.
