After 16 year old OZ is accidentally infected with a strange virus, things begin to change...and not only for him.

Author's Note: This story is similar to a story I read here called “A Fish Tale,” written by the user Amellie. I call this a fan fiction because there are enough differences where it could stand on its own but enough similarities that credit is due. I wanted to try something a bit less emotional so there isn't much in the way of character development. As always, thanks to djkauf for editing and comments are always appreciated.

I can't believe this happened to me.

The sun was shining from an odd angle as I woke up. I was warm but felt cramped. I struggled with a thicker comforter and arms before I was able to see that I was in my parents bed. Sam was on one side of me with daddy on the other side of her. Mother was on my other side. I do not remember how I got here nor how I got into my lavender silk pajamas. I did know that my bladder was calling for immediate attention. I padded out of bed being careful not to disturb any of my family.

Perhaps not my final choice of title, indeed for obvious reasons “Life on Venus” sprang to mind. “Gene Hunt” is of course not my creation although perhaps “Jean Hunt” may appear?
Be gentle, this story is the first I have written in a very long time.
I will try to add additional chapters as I get around to writing them but have no idea where I want the tale to go yet. My muse and the storyline are still arguing over the teacups!

Garia experiences life in disguise for another day as her journey takes her back to Dekarran and then beyond. She endures poor planning, sleepless nights and boring hours spent waiting for things to happen. She encounters beer monsters and others with six legs, but the journey is finally under way at last.
