The magic wand gets all metaphorical.

This is probably the shortest scene in the entire story (if they get any smaller, I'm going to panic), but I think it's a rather climactic one. The rest of the scenes should all be much larger.

I don't know how it happened. Magic of some sort is the only explanation that makes any sense. I'm standing, in a hotel room somewhere, I take it, while he lies in bed. I look at myself in the mirror while he smirks. I don't know how I got here.

I used to be a man. But now I'm wearing a peach-colored maid's uniform, with a white apron and black stockings and shoes. My hair is long. I know I'm wearing a bra and panties underneath the uniform.

My parents named me Julio, and I don't really know when it all began. I remember one time I was a little boy I had a dream that I'd turned into a girl somehow. In the dream I wore a pink dress and black Mary Jane shoes and white stockings, and my hair was long and curly. I remember going to the bathroom and peeing sitting down. When I was a little older, at twelve I think, one time during gym class a friend of mine was sitting next to me.

The metal of the drink cooler was cold against my back. Reflections of flashing police lights flashed all around me. I laid my head back and closed my eyes for a moment, listening to the rush of police officers out in the parking lot.
I took a drag from my cigarette. I could feel a trickle of blood running down my chest and into my cleavage.
The weight of the .44 magnum Ruger Super Blackhawk was familiar in my hand, but heavier somehow than it had been before. I pulled back the hammer. The click of the cylinders turning seemed loud as thunder.
I risked a glance over the top of the cooler, the glass crunching under my feet as loud as an avalanche.
Only four; I have to hurry.
I took a final drag from my cigarette, then flicked it away, trying to center myself for what I knew was coming.
How did I get here?
That made me smile a little.

Life has a flavour to it, at least I like to think so. Psychologists call it "Neuro-associative-conditioning" which tells you absolutely nothing about anything. The gist of it is that as human beings, we experience reality subjectively. And when we experience that reality, we instinctively attach emotions to the experience.

I’m so different now.

I mean that’s kind of obvious when you go from a washed out Ex-MMA fighter to a ganger and druggie to this…me.

And right now I’m leading Kyle…my boyfriend and lover to our bedroom because he’s scared and hurting and needs some TLC. He’s gone from the blonde blue eyed built preppy media darling that he was to this almost fae…to this dark skinned elfin angel.

And myself from a six foot hispanic mixed asshole to a not quite five foot Japanese girl.

I walk backwards pulling him by his hands to our room and our bed and I’m smiling. I get how a good girl can make a guy feel and he’s looking at me in that way y’know. Never thought I’d be a good girl.

Everyone has a story to tell, right? Stuck on ball of dirt orbiting the sun at twenty kajillion miles an hour, lost in the haze of one galaxy piled on another, but we all believe we're the centre of the universe. Nobody bothers to think about why we're here, what our purpose is, or who is pulling all the strings that make us dance.
