A Short Test Of Your Deductive Reasoning

Blog About:

Author:

There are four cards. Each has a number printed on one side and a letter on the other.

There is a rule - which may or may not be true - that every card printed with 'D' on one side must have '3' printed on the other side.

The cards are laid down. They show D, F, 3, 7.

Which card(s) do you have to turn over in order to verify whether or not the rule holds good?

The solution - and the reasoning behind it - is given at around the 3-minute point in the video linked to below.

Broken Heart Syndrome

Blog About:

Author:

I was watching the news last night on the local FOX affiliated station. Much to my surprise they were interviewing my cardiologist. He was explaining “broken heart syndrome” in connection with Debbie Reynolds' death.

Not too many years ago he had given me the same explanation. We were in his office going over my medical history, including my family’s health.

I had told him that my father had died in his sleep from a surprise heart attack. Less than a week later, my mother, who had not displayed any heart problems, died from a “heart attack.”

Is this actually covered in a story or just an internal Whateley 'This Happened'?

okay, I want to talk about dreams for a moment.

I am not sure I understand, much less agree with all dream analysis, but when patterns start get being repeated in dreams, its at least possible your brain is trying to tell you something.

For example, I've had a lot of "searching" dreams - dreams where I was looking for a person, a place, or an object.

A belated Christmas gift to you all, I have just posted the first chapter of "Playing her way 2".

I haven't been doing much writing lately. I've had an idea for a story about a prank involving a secret Santa gift for quite a while, and I thought I would write it up in time for Christmas. Ideally posting the chapters on the days corresponding to the events.

some days start out shaky, and stay that way ...

Blog About:

Well, today was kinda a shaky day.

It started with me being rather fragile as I went to bed last night, and then I got woken up at around 5 AM by my mom in a panic because she had locked herself out of her car.

She finally calmed down enough to phone AMA to get them to come and unlock her car for her, but by that point, her struggles had kinda infested me and I spent most of the day struggling with being more fragile, which made a pretty busy day just a bit less fun than it might have been.

It has been twenty years or more since I was researching transgender or transsexual employment. So don't ask me for names. Computer crashes have wiped most of my years of research. You aren't interested in that though as you already know all the computer horror stories. Probably lived through a few of them on your own.

The last week of the year is often given over to reflection on the year that is about to pass, so let me add my own take on 2016.

Out in the world, its been a year of tremendous change -not a lot of it positive. Trump, Brexit, the growing power of Russia, terrorism, - its been pretty hard to find a lot of good news.

Plus, this has been the year of the Celebrity Death. I honestly cant think of a year where more famous people have died, and not just b or c listers, but huge names have left us this year.

Whatever happened to Ginger Collins

I have recently discovered Ginger Collins, whose output seems to have been restricted to one year, December 2008 to December 2009. I found all the stories very readable, and far and away the best kept to last, almost exactly seven years ago when "Whatever Happened To Andy Crewson?" was posted on the last day of that year.

It is my belief that re-posting would help other newer readers like me to share in the delight of good stories well told.

In only three days it will be time to wish you all a happy new 2017

So best wishes to one and all

Other than her calling me "Todd", it was a pretty good time, except I had a bit of a panic attack.

This has been quite an unusual year in many respects. But the strangest of all is the fact that two holidays, or religious events depending upon one's perspective, coincide; Christmas and Hanukkah. Well...being a faithful adherent to Paganism, it doesn't take much for us to be dancing around a tree. Indeed any tree will do and any time of year is 'kosher'? As for lighting candles, well...we light them at the drop of a hat...or any other piece of clothing. And, being Irish, after a pint or two...or three...we're likely to do so with greater vigor.

Got back home last e'en from an exhausting trip around the NRW (Nord Rhein Westfalia) region of Germany. Gab's dragged me from Muenster in the north to Aachen in the west and south as far as Bonn to enjoy the pleasures of the Weihnachtsmarkts. It was a gruelling week, 28 market sites in 11 different towns and cities which added 27 beverage containers to my burgeoning Gluehwein mug collection! Hopefully next week, when we've recovered a bit, i'll post an A to er S of the trip complete with pictures.

On being "Broken"

Sometimes, being Bipolar can be a real bitch.

And sometimes, the demons in my closet come calling a little too loudly.

Today appears to be one of those days. My muse has fled, and, once again, the Beast takes over. It was an enjoyable ride, as it was. I don't know when Haylee will return, but hopefully it will be soon. I really like her, and sometimes wish she could stay just a little longer.

C'est la vie!

Tobi Hill-Meyer's announced an anthology...

She's focusing on erotic fiction.

I tend to prefer longer romantic stories, but I sometimes enjoy erotic stories, ... and I think we need more erotic fiction by trans people, for trans people, so we can reclaim our bodies and our sexualities.

NOT answering Messages

Author:

Was busy with messages lately. Bumped back to the beginning of messages and found dozens of messages I never knew was there and never responded to. To any and all who feel I may have ignored them. I'm terribly sorry if I hurt anyone's emotions. The Blonde excuse no longer works as my hair has become snow white. A few years ago I came to BCTS with no more than a passing interest as people were asking me permission to post my stories here. I would drop in, skim the story to make sure it wasn't altered and bounce out. It would be months before I would pass by again.

Masculine/feminine balance

I believe gender shouldn't be an either or choice. In my just completed story "Old friend,New love" I tried to present two people trying to find a new balance in their gender expression. In the process they find someone that loves both sides.

Not many percieved it that way. But I would like some feedback. How would describe the characters Kevin/Kate and Chris/Chrissie on a masculine/feminine scale. For example Kevin/Kate 10%M/80%F (yes it doesn't need to add up to 100% if you feel some uncertanty).
