Fully refreshed & relaxed, Liz & Charlie flew back to New York a week later.

Amber woke slowly; her mouth felt like an aspirin bottle–dry and stuffed with cotton. She moaned, sat up, and pushed her hair out of her face. She wanted to retch. She moved to the edge of the bed, forced herself to stand and stumbled her way into the bathroom where she splashed cold water on her face to help her focus.

The couple flew from New York two days later to the Caribbean Island of Barbados. Charlie had rented a villa overlooking Admiral Flower Bay for a couple of weeks in the hope that the sun and fresh air might lift the air of depression caused by the virtual end of the project and Charlie’s Mother’s appearance.

After the land battle Drustina slowly starts to come to terms with her intersexed bilateral hermaphrodism. Her femininity brings with it wisdom and compassion but she stil has battles to fight.
