Who would have known a small clerical error would cause so much chaos?

The first chapter of my first story ever. Please comment if you enjoy, or if you don't for that matter!

From my window seat in the classroom, I watched the gulls ride the thermal currents flowing over the ocean waves. Looking small in the distance, they resembled tiny pieces of paper littering the air, rising and falling, sometimes lazily circling about. Nonetheless, I knew they were gulls and not paper, and for much of the afternoon homeroom period they had persistently nagged at my attention.

Terri and I get changed and we head off to the spare room and she’s been using that while she’s been living here and it shows with all of her stuff that she’s picked up since being here and we set up a bed in a bag which is pretty cool and loads better than a sleeping bag on the floor and her and I stay up for awhile watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on her laptop.

I fall asleep after the second show.

It’s not too bad a show and kinda rough and raunchy but that doesn’t bother me. It’s just after leaving camp and coming home all in the same day and all the shock and stuff with my family and being full from supper I just couldn’t keep my eyes open.

My dreams sweep me up in visions of Moon lake and of being Robin in my hometown and no one knowing that I’m...was Rob but I’m just the new girl.

This is an excerpt from an uncompleted novel. That work actually predates my Masks universe, but is being rewritten to fit into the history of those stories. The style is meant to recall the pulps of the Thirties.

12 Hailee the New Amazon girl

Henry's mom asks “ where are you taken my son”. Bonnie answers “ since you ask as a woman he is going down to the road a bit where we keep all boys from 13yrs and above they will be going to specail area for teenboys who we have not decide their fates yet and he knew Jim and Tim Possible”. Mother said “ you you mean slaves or workers”.

Our Heroine is in the middle of a very awkward phone call to Saffron.

“I… I don’t know what to say.”

There was no reply.

“Saffy? Are you there?”

There were some audible sounds from the other end of the line.

Eventually she replied.

“Don’t you love me?”

Now I was in a corner with no way out.

“Yes Saffy I love you but not in the way you think I do.”
