Today my sister decided to take me landlubbing, which the mermaid equivalent of the human sport of snorkeling- a low tech way to see all the pretty sights of a world that isn't your own. Except that instead of gliding almost effortlessly along through the water, our version has the tortoise-like pace of crawling + squirming over the ground + through the brush, and in some places you're basically rock climbing without feet. It isn't easy. But the little island Anemone had brought me to was so breathtakingly gorgeous it made it all worth it. It had everything you'd hope to find on a tropical isle- from coconut palms to waterfalls. And being uninhabited we could explore it all without running into any humans...

Or so we thought. Until that big white boat pulled into our perfect island's perfect bay, and things got super intense as our pleasant outing turned into a desperate game of hide and seek.

I slumped into the house and my mother came out of the kitchen as I did so. “What’s the matter, darling?” she asked but I didn’t want to talk, I was too upset. I ignored her and went up to my room and shut the door.

This chapter is a follow up to chapter 31 and before 33. So sorry for throwing this chapter in so late.

On the surface, Michael Gorman is a very religious and studious man. But the chubby little man isn't very happy. He works for a church as a pastor, but feels underappreciated. He is invited to a very strange job interview with a corporate recruiter named Gary Nichols. Quickly, he discovers that Gary has a powerful necklace called a cryx that can transform the balding man into a beautiful woman. He says Michael can do it too. Will he take the job? How will this work with home life and work life?

This is a teaser to you, and a test of the waters for me. I am working hard to get to a point where I can give it to you to read. I should have the first chapter up within the month, I know that that kind of wait is a lot to ask you to hold onto this with the hope that you will get to see it soon.

CHAPTER 53
I got the feedback from Arwel the day after, and it sounded better than I had expected. It seemed that Miriam, the cousin I had first met, the one Annie had held out such hope for, had been even more devious with her family than I could ever have imagined, and I did wonder whether she fancied a job with my old team. It was the other girl I was concerned about though, and I was jerking to each ring of the telephone, expecting it to be from Diane.

Aria is summoned to Earth and has to contend with a large number of professional soldiers in order to save her friend!
