Chapter 12

My eyelids flutter open and I inhale this wonderful combination of scent’s old straw, fresh hay, clover and the smell of sex. Shaun and I had just made love and I’ve never felt like thing in my life. It’s quiet inside of me for the first time in awhile, all of me satisfied. The layers that are me all happy for various reasons.

And of course just to be a girl, I’m actually a little freaked out. Shaun, My Shaun is a caster, a mage of somekind. I’m lying there being spooned and watching the sunlight starting to wane.

"Oh, Susie, that will be even worse - I can't be two people at once."

"I'm three steps ahead of you, Jeffrey. It won't matter if you're half-and-half this afternoon, because it's all taken care of by my master plan."

"I don't like the sound of this, Susie, your ideas are liable to have unintended consequences. You always make things more complicated than they need be."

"I've learned my lesson; this is genius in its simplicity," she smirked. "You won't be the odd one out, because I'll be on the pitch rugbying with you."

"What!"

"You heard, Jeffrey - we'll be as peas in a pod."

"Nuts in a fruitcake, more like - our double act will call for an even more convoluted explanation."

The story, inspired by the Kids in the Hall, was written in 2002.

"How about doing a sports interview?" I suggested. "We could have hockey's dirtiest player doing a tell-all about how to inflict pain without taking a penalty."

"Yeah," Ted agreed. "The bad guy could demonstrate all his dirty moves on the interviewer. Like an elbow to the face."

Queen Elizabeth summoned Christopher, Dawn's younger brother. The Queen wanted him to be the husband of the former Alexander du Lac. She knew that Christopher wanted the man responsible for raping his older sister punished.

This story is the third for Volume II of the Cynthia Chronicles. As to the time frame in which it takes place, I’ll let you decide. I thought some of the readers of the journal, The Cynthia Chronicles, about Cindy Lewis, Bobbie Anderson, Randi Deere, their families, friends and lovers would like to know a little more about how I, Portia Bennett, became the author of these tales. It started many years ago, and to get to be the chronicler for this wonderful group of people has been a strange and wonderful adventure.

Part Eight

Queen Elizabeth led Dawn into the local seamstress' shop so that they could select a fabric for Dawn's wedding gown.

The shop owner greeted them with a cheery "Good morning, Your Majesty, Dawn. What can I do for you today?"

"We want to look at several yards of your best white fabrics, and best hand tatted lace. We have to make the most beautiful gown for her upcoming nuptials." Queen Elizabeth replied.
