For a split second, she debated ignoring it. Let it go to voicemail. Handle it later, when she wasn’t already bracing herself for a fight. But that wasn’t an option. Not with this case. Not with him.

She answered. "Yeah?"

"You’re working the girl, right?" Trevor’s voice was clipped. Guarded.

Fran frowned. "Found her last night on the way home from the alarm place. What about her?"

"Just checking in." He hesitated. "Anything new?"

She heard it—the measured pauses, the subtle restraint. Trevor wasn’t just checking in. He was setting the stage for an argument before it even started.

I have worked on this poetry for years. Kelly Blake's new entry inspired me to share it. I am sure that any Transgendered person will understand it. There are a variety of themes contained within it. I think I was reading the work of the likes of Frost, and his contemporaries at the time. I started it in the Late 80's after I finally figured out that I was Transgendered and there was no cure.

It started out centered on the page with a yellow background. Anyone who would care to correct that, you are welcome, but I do not wish anyone to tamper with the text at all.

Part One: How It All Started

Ghosts in the library. A fairly common story for Halloween . Telling such stories, especially around a campfire at night, is fun. Heck, it’s almost a tradition — a ghostly figure that you see from the corner of your eye as you work on your homework in the library, eerie sounds, unexplained movements like doors closing or chairs moving et cetera. Old hat. Hackneyed, even. Thing is, I was the one who saw them, experienced them. It might even have been okay if that was all, and if they just happen occasionally, and at night. But the thing was, the weird stuff started happening in the daytime as well, and during class. And it all started when my eyes changed color…
