This is a story I did a few years ago and posted on Sapphire's. It's an attempt at Science Fiction and Adventure. At the time I wrote it, I had never read any of the Gor books. Now that I have, I'm surprised at some of the similarities.

The story is about Bill, who, through a travesty of justice gets involved with a dying boy. With the help of the boy's late uncle's writings, Bill is pulled into a strange, savage world.

The bell above the door of "The Gilded Clipper" had a delicate, apologetic chime, a sound that felt too refined for the gritty city street outside. I, Alex, stood in the doorway, my heart a frantic drum against my ribs. My hair was collar-length, a noncommittal, mousy brown that I’d hidden under baseball caps for years. But today, the cap was in my pocket. Today was the day.

John was not a girl. He didn’t even think he was in any way girly. What he did like, was to wear skirts. There is really nothing inherently girly in wearing skirts. Just look around the world, present and past, and you find many cultures where men and boys wear skirts (if often by another name).

It was the second Wednesday of the semester. It was also the second Wednesday that freshman Tommy and his parents had a meeting with the Principal. Tommy had not enjoyed the first meeting. Not at all. He didn’t expect to enjoy this meeting either. How could he have been so stupid?

“How can that woman be so hot?” Marcus asked the world at large as he drank from his tumbler.

“Who?” His friend, Paul, asked.

“Over there. With the long straight platinum blond hair and eyes so green we can see their color across the haze of the dance floor.”

“You’re really into this girl? Oh, her. Wow. That hourglass figure must have been work.”

“You think?”

“Maybe. Why is no one near her?”

“She’s in a league all her own. Deservedly.” He drank again.

“Or they all know she has chlamydia.”

The Last of the Fey

by Denise Anesidora Trask

Dennis is a stunt man, er... boy, er... young adult. Being of slight build, although muscular, he didn’t get into sports when in middle and high school. No, he was far too deeply involved in the motion picture business by then. It all began when he was less than a year old and snowballed from there.
