Ladies and... gentlewomen? Anyway.... HERE WE GO AGAIN. It's a new story. I've been developing this for about 2 months. It's set in the same town as my last novel, Mud Creek. But in in 1994. The characters in this story are 20 something geeks, gamers, outcasts, wannabe satanic warlocks, and witches. It will be somewhat darker and grittier then Mud Creek. As usual consider this a preview, warts and all. I'm using a rotating 3rd person POV.

Chapter 1

That Summer was a blisteringly hot one, with no real rain until nearly March. As a consequence, a lot of our time was spent at the beach, but I noted one slight change in the dynamics, in that both of our offspring were spending their own chunks of that time away from us, or at least beside us but not actually with us. Each was building their own social circle, and I was pleased beyond words, especially for LC.

Chapter Ten

Taylor’s heart was pounding.

He knew that Anna would be on the other side of the house, since she would be the one answering the door, but that didn’t account for her friend(s). Based on his experiences returning from practice on the nights where Sarah had company over, he was assuming it would be the two or three usual girls that were around. They could just as easily be in the living room or Sarah’s bedroom, meaning he could also run into them in just about any hallway or the stairwell leading to the second floor.

Chapter 60: Truths at the Table

The shift from the backyard to the house felt surreal. The evening air still clung to their skin, carrying the faint scent of smoke and grass as they left the chaos of the yard behind. Every step through the threshold felt like crossing a border between worlds—outside, the rawness of magic and fear; inside, the muted hush of ordinary life, untouched, waiting for them.

I wasn’t relaxed. How could I be? I had managed to get a room at the Twice Brewed with no issues at all, as they seemed glad to have me back, but the alternator on the Kwak had needed replacing, and I couldn’t decide whether to trust the new one or simply switch all my luggage over to the Beemer, and all of that had been even more stressful due to the e-mails and phone calls about the other shots, at Cawfield. Would it work in monochrome? Could I handle colour as well as…

Chapter 6

The warning came halfway through the fifth period.

Authors Note: This will be the last chapter of Mud Creek I post here. I finished the book recently and have been editing, adding, and rewriting some scenes. There are 2 chapters left after this one. Thank you for everyone who read and especially, Dallas, Emma Anne, Joanne, Teri Ann, Patricia, KayD and anyone else who commented. Those comments kept me writing all through the Winter to finish this. I can't thank you ladies enough. As for Mud Creek Sarah, her story is complete for now. As for this Sarah, who knows we're still writing.

Chapter 30 March 15th. 2026

Lucy came into Sarah’s room. She was still in her workout clothes from this morning, and sitting at the computer. “Hey,” she said and slid in close behind her. “I think we’re alone now.”

She slid her hand over Sarah’s shoulder and touched her small breast. It was compressed under a sports bra. She gently began to tweak her nipple with her thumb and forefinger.

Chapter Three: Identity

The air outside the chamber felt sharper than it should have.

Authors note: Hi, short chapter for this week. This felt like it could have been the end of the story, and it would be if this is was a story about Grace, but this is a story about Lucy and Sarah and they are far from resolved. I'm just about finished with chapter 32, but I'm not sure if I'm going to finish posting the story here since I'm concerned with publishing issues. I'm planning on cleaning it up and publishing an ebook this summer. Thanks again for reading and your comments.

Robi turned quickly in the direction of the sound as the unexpected scream pierced the ever-present noise of the infirmary.

“What the fuck was that?” Warren called from a couple rows away as he looked up from the patient he was attending.

Chapter One: Selection

Leo was an ordinary guy until he discovers a strange program… the Master PC program. It allows him to edit the people around him and alter reality (including himself). What will a young man bored with life use it for? Well, depravity of course.

Chapter 3

The next morning, Marilyn sat in the rear while Hannah drove them to work, finding a space in the area for DCI parking. They went in and spent all morning in the range, with the armourer, firstly getting upgraded with their handgun use.

Although Marilyn had trained with a handgun, this was the first time she had been given the full training as a likely AFO. After that, they were shown how to use the Heckler and Koch MP5 carbine, which was a lot scarier than she had expected.

They went into the canteen for lunch. Hannah was serious.

To act as bodyguards for the mob witness Val, Sheila and Martin have infiltrated the strip club where she works. Martin's hard job is to sit around drinking beers, while Sheila has to wear a short skirt and high heels, while serving drinks. Preventing a mob hit is a tough job, but it's much harder to hold down a cocktail waitress job without getting fired.
