There's something special about sharing a meal, I think it creates memories, strengths the  bonds and such. So mom and I sat there, enjoying our pizza. I could feel the ice starting to melt away. The Fa'afafine bill

Fa'afafine is a “third gender” in Polynesian culture, according to the Samoa Fa'afafine Association.
It has been a part of island life for as long as anyone can remember..When a boy is noticeably effeminate, he will likely be taught the traditional duties of Samoan women, which often means working within the house. In the past it was thought that this role was forced on them. There are contradicting stories. Some do indeed say that they were forced. Mostly it is voluntary though.

CHAPTER 106
We pulled off the motorway at last, the minibus feeling heavy as I started to handle bends rather than sweeping curves, turning right at a roundabout and then past the airport. There were three more roundabouts, and then a turning into a field by a tiny little river, tents scattered over the grass. I stepped out to stretch my back, Frank’s hands on my shoulders to massage the tension away, and the younger girls went looking for someone to talk to as Alun parked his own car and started dragging out his and Alicia’s kit.
