Chapter 34: Christmas Time

The three days leading up to Christmas transformed the Allen household into a dazzling wonderland of festive joy. Every nook and cranny sparkled with holiday splendor, adorned with vibrant, cascading garlands and a multitude of twinkling lights, each one lending a magical glow to the rooms. The air was thick with the delightful aromas of cinnamon and cloves, mingling harmoniously with the sweet scent of freshly baked cookies wafting from the kitchen, creating an atmosphere of warmth and anticipation.

Chapter One

“What do you mean, you can’t make it?”

It was the day before Fiona Turner’s wedding. She was by no means a bridezilla, though a last minute snag was bound to make anyone a little frustrated.

Her younger sister, Sophie, stepped a little closer to try and hear more than the single side of the conversation the others in the living room were getting from Heather. “Who is it?” she asked.

Chapter 11

Jill was not a promoter, more of an arranger, and she talked Willow through the process of store appearances and the like. She explained that some events would not be able to have all eleven band members, due to logistics, so any performances would have to be tailored to the size of the band, with, at the moment, the quartet being the easiest to move around.

A girl from a bourgeois family would often be Confirmated at age twelve, and at age sixteen or seventeen she would become a debutante. What is a debutante?
