Tori’s taken the day off of work again and I’m starting to feel bad about it. Then again, she kind of created this mess, didn’t she? I push the thoughts out of my mind as she chats on the phone with her mom. She’s made a pretty good point of staying in the room with me, occasionally reading, mostly on her laptop, but she’s spent a good amount of time talking to me. She wants to know everything. What my life was like as a kid, favorite color, favorite book, and so on. I’m hesitant to answer at first but she gets easier to talk to the longer I do it.

Chapter 10

They went downstairs, knocking on Ted’s door on the way. They were seated at their table by six, and Hugh gave Carlo his credit card for all the meal costs. They were talking about general things when Hazel asked Willow a question.

“How’s the campaign going, Willow?”

“Dad’s been to the office a few times and spoken to them. We spent a morning with the guys at the head office in Whitehall and surprised them when they were showing us around Parliament. Chris Leigh spoke to us and hosted us for lunch in the Lords Dining Room.”

This is a sequel to Demon Queened, but I'll do my best to make sure you don't need to read the original to make sense of it. I still recommend the original - it was a good series, in my opinion! - but reading it shouldn't be a necessity.

Sometimes death isn't the end. Sometimes, people can come back with new lives and new powers. This is one of those times.

This is a serial story with litrpg and gamelit elements.

I was still in my nightdress when the doorbell rang the next morning. Fortunately, I’ve never quite lost the paranoia accompanying the possibility of being found out, so I always have a dressing gown nearby. This one was long enough to cover the depths of white lace currently cascading off my shoulders, so all I needed to do was pull it on and cinch the tie tight.

Chapter 1: The City by the Bay

I’ve been playing around with titles, trying to create a spark that would lead to a story. This one was the title of an old detective novel. It led to a story that fits this time of the year. If there’s a Halloween Contest, consider this my entry.

I was walking along a street I knew well, when something felt odd. I couldn’t put my finger on it, so I just carried on. A few paces on, the feeling went away, and I continued on to my workplace. I immersed myself in my business and forgot all about the feeling.

"Alright Megamind," I typed, "let’s see what you think I’d look like as a woman." I’d already uploaded a photograph of myself wearing my most recent Amazon purchase, a wine coloured dress with a wrap over front and loose cap sleeves. I’ll be honest, I really didn’t like the raw photo – too wide around the middle and with a face that, whilst not in any way rugged, could not pass for female if it tried.

Chapter 9

On the way home, Willow got Sebastian to stop at a post office, where she bought a post pack big enough for three discs, and the stamps needed for a package of three and another of one. When she was home, she sealed the one to the ENO, and filled the package to Jill. Properly stamped, she left them on the hall table for her mother to put in a post box in the morning.

Things around town were quiet for a few days after Melissa’s coming-out event. She was initially reluctant to go to work at Jake’s Bar in what Ingrid called ‘Full Warpaint’.
