On December 16, 1773, roughly 100 insurgents boarded four merchant vessels at Boston Harbor and threw 342 crates of tea overboard, protesting a newly-imposed tax on tea and the English Parliament that had unilaterally ordered it.

Sadly, they probably didn’t encounter a letter like this one in the week or so before the event.

Chapter 9 September 19th 2025

“Here’s your money back dear,” Carla said, handing Lucy some folded bills, which she quickly pocketed. Lucy sat down on her front porch with her Mom, Carla, who lit her cigarette and took a deep pull. She could hear her Dad flipping through TV stations in the house. “Your cousin Elle invited you to her baby shower,” she said.

Chapter Seven

‘Write me a love note, and take a picture of it while showing off your panties. By the end of class, babe. Oh, and no leaving your desk!’

The first day, we didn’t actually go in ourselves. We just poked equipment through the portal on poles of various sorts, and took readings from it. We didn’t get a GPS signal or cellular phone signal except for what came through the portal from here. By closing the door I’d installed, and using a longer pole, we concluded there was no trace of those signals.

With their parents away, Karen and her friend Lisa plan a romp with their boy friends. A last minute complication compels Karen to bribe her younger brother, Blake, into transforming himself into a feminine girl, Tiffany, who can keep company with Lisa's younger sister Monica. Blake finds out that there's no going back.

Alex had a terminal Cancer diagnosis and thought she would die before she got to be the girl she always was inside. That all changes when she's in the wrong place at the right time and gets transported to another world and into the body of a girl. So what if she's not human, she's alive and a girl. Now if only she had her sister with her to navigate this new world and her new responsibilities. Wait, she's here too? The passage of their souls between worlds may have doomed the Earth to apocalypse, but Alex and Michelle won't be there to see it and they have enough problems on their hands.
 

Chapter 46: A New Law

Yuqi woke with a jolt, her chest tight, her fire stirring violently inside her. It felt as if her flames were trying to claw their way out, desperate and wild. She sat up in bed, gasping, sweat slicking her brow, and instantly knew something was wrong. The air itself seemed heavier, thick with tension and humming faintly with power, as if the entire house was holding its breath.

When we went back to the pool, Bertie was snuffling, a sure sign that he was starting to wake up. Jenny grinned.

“He’s a world class snorer. How do you put up with it?”

“He’s much better than he was when I first met him. He wondered why no girl would stay the night, so I told him to see a doctor to fix his deviated septum. I think that he appreciated my telling him the truth. Good earplugs help as well.”

I went to Bertie and gave him a kiss on his forehead. His eyes opened.

it was a meeting that i was worried about, how my family would react to the new me, although I had already made my decision and hoped that they would understand.

My grandfather was in sales. My father regarded it as a lowly occupation, and he often gave his father-in-law a hard time about it. He said that salespeople would say or do anything to close the deal. He said that it required no qualifications and attracted people with short attention spans. My father had qualifications – not great ones, but something to hang on his wall. My grandfather had sales awards, but he didn’t display them.

Sometimes death isn't the end. Sometimes, people can come back with new lives and new powers. This is one of those times.
