Our protagonists have to go to the mall to pick up supplies for their project. Paul and Pappy are accosted by Mefisto and his pals. The three witches step in once again. The bullies are forced to undergo a transformation; but are they forced? Paul comes out to Pappy. They meet The Wizard, and in spite of all the parental warnings find him to be quite nice.

Randi Lewis at age 18 is starting work on her Master of Science in Chemistry, and Charli Brewer is a freshman in pre-med at UConn. Bobbie Anderson is setting the golf world on fire having now won tournaments on the PGA in addition to her many victories on the LPGA. This story takes place several years before Bobbie and the Glass Ceiling. “Stop crying!” The middle-aged man barks as the electric clippers shear my head clean of the hair I’d been growing over the last twelve months. I gulp and blink my eyes, but as lock after lock of light blonde hair tumbles in front of my face, I can’t control my emotions. My life, just my hair, is tumbling down in front of me.

Once the haircut is complete, I look at myself in the mirror and I want to scream. Looking back at me is undoubtedly the face of a pre-teen boy. A pre-teen boy with a cute face, but a boy nonetheless.

Chapter 35 - A period of 'amore'

The next day was Daisy's day off so she and Linda watched TV together, both wearing almost identical peignoir sets, Daisy's in bright pink, Linda's in stark black. They were shod in mid-heeled mules. Sometime in the afternoon, the phone rang and Linda took the call. After listening for a few minutes, she said, "She'll be there whether she wants to or not."

Daisy knew that he was the subject of the conversation, but he couldn't imagine who could be calling, certainly not Ivan.

Lee finds himself in the middle of a very bad situation. He is being forced, by Revy and Chang, into a poker game with River, inside a room, on the casino penthouse floor. With the former con-woman, Faye Valentine, as their dealer.

Each side has a million dollars in chips on the line. And it is Revy's money that Lee is gambling with.

In addition, with River's genius and telepathy, there cameras and microphones monitoring the room she, Lee, and Faye are in. With the video and audio feeds being sent to the rest of the casino, for everyone there to watch their every move, and listen to their every comment.

As such, there is no room for error for Lee. One mistake, and he will blow his cover as the writer, to the whole world.

Unfortunately, if Lee hopes to continue breathing by the end of the day, he not only has to keep his cover from everyone, but he also has to win a million dollars in chips for Revy, against the telepathic genius, River, while keeping River happy.

Though, Lee knows that he can do this, because it is all in the cards.
