What is a monster? Actually, how to define one?
Some people, mainly those that call themselves Christians would say that it is easy, anyone that hurts and maim creatures of a thinking species only for pleasure is a monster.
Perhaps, but and if the violence is done for other reasons? If it is for vengeance, to leave a message or any other of the reasons of war?
In truth I say that as in many other things, this new religion is simplistic in its philosophy with its clear definition of good and evil.
Someone said that if you kill one man you are a murderer, if you kill thousands and call it an act of war you are a hero. Does it apply to monsters either?
To illustrate my thesis, look at this report sent to me by Valerus Ilustratus, centurion of the XXII Centuria, the so-called monster hunters.

Synopsis:

For Daniel, his twelfth birthday was starting out like every other one. Here was home, with his two sisters and his parents, and a lame cake and no friends. Instead, he had to spend the day faking happiness for his family.

Daniel remembered his birthdays when he was younger, and they were so different. But then, only his sisters knew about the special birthdays, or so he thought. The earliest birthday he recalled was when he was six. His parents were out of town on a cruise — it seemed like they went away every year on his birthday — and he was alone with two older girls. Yuck!

CHAPTER 50
That was a seriously odd arrangement. I mean, there were so many tents outside the church it looked more like some sort of festival than the wedding of a vicar, or of anyone else, come to that. For just an instant, I felt completely at sea among so many people, unable to focus on individual faces, and then people started to emerge from the background, rather like one of those hidden object puzzles.

“I really love you,” she repeated. “I’ve never felt this way about … anyone. Ever. Lately, when I’m not with you it feels like … I dunno. It’s like everything is a commercial, and the movie doesn’t start again until you’re there.”
Richard said “I feel the same way,” as he snuggled his date.
“Really?”
“Yes,” he said tenderly. “You’ve turned my whole world upside down and now I find I can’t go back to living right side up.”
“What if,” Christina said as she watched the stars poke holes in the night, “we couldn’t be together? Would you be sorry?..."
