Chapter 24: Fallout

The fallout from the lawsuits and the court’s decisions rippled through the town like a thunderclap, leaving residents in a state of disbelief. Initially, the community seemed paralyzed by the overwhelming revelations, the weight of the truth rendering them unable to process the gravity of what had transpired. As time passed, however, emotions began to stir, and the townspeople found themselves divided, their reactions as diverse as the patchwork of lives they led.

In victory, the Heroine brings about a glorious age of peace between demons and humans for the first time in millennia. ...Which actually sounds pretty good for her people, come to think of it. Devilla knows her terrible behavior is beyond forgiveness, but maybe she can still make up for her past mistakes? She just needs to make sure the events of the game unfold correctly. Though there is one little detail she'd like to change - the part where Devilla herself is killed or enslaved!

“Do NOT stuff that one down your bra, as I’m going to take it from you very soon!” Lydia teases, before rolling the dice and continuing our game of ‘Angels Monopoly.’

Today is day nine of our ‘incarceration’ in the Lincolnshire mansion, and the restlessness is already starting to kick in — hence why many of us have already resorted to Monopoly.

Chapter 21: The Charges

The ride to the station felt like an eternity to Yuqi, though it couldn’t have been more than ten minutes. She sat in the cramped backseat of the patrol car, her mind swirling with a tempest of confusion and fear, the biting metal of the handcuffs digging into her wrists like a cruel reminder of her predicament. The two officers in the front seat maintained a stony silence, their eyes fixed on the road ahead, amplifying the sense of dread that coiled tighter in her stomach with each passing second.

I was an assistant producer for a TV station, in Phoenix, Az. Deedra, my producer, and I were discussing a bit of information we had just learned about. It was still in the rumor stage, but if true might require us to delve into this mystery, since anything remotely connected to this would make for a great story locally, maybe even nationally.
