Revenge Served Cold
A Short Story

“Patience is the ultimate virtue”. They are so very fond of saying that at Ms. Lacey’s School of Reform for Wayward Boys. Ms. Lacey herself says that all women must learn patience first. “A woman’s life is full of frustrations, and a woman’s life is what is in store for all of you. And frustration can only be overcome by patience”. I can still hear the words, being drummed into me with everything else. I have never forgotten those words, or how to fold napkins, braid my hair or walk in high heels.

Dear Readers, You will start to see some redundancy in the storyline because, well, I've merged the story, and after a few more chapters, we will finally introduce some new stuff again. I do appreciate your loyalty and patience.

Chapter Eight

Lisa looked at Teri. “I think it’s great that Jessica’s going to help us out with this. I wish I could keep an eye on this guy. All my life, I’ve wondered about my father and why I was abandoned. I thought it was all my fault that he left Mom. I figured he didn’t want me.”

Walking the Blue Line.
Every rookie police officer knows the dangers of the job by the second week under their training officer. By the end of their training every rookie understands that there are something they can’t control, and not all crimes will be solved. Though all rookies share the same dream. Their first assignment following training. For 21 year old Officer Joe Cartwright of the Baltimore PD that dream is to be a member of the Mounted Patrol. What he got would lead to a life changing path.

Chapter One: The Soul Wound

Alex had a terminal Cancer diagnosis and thought she would die before she got to be the girl she always was inside. That all changes when she's in the wrong place at the right time and gets transported to another world and into the body of a girl. So what if she's not human, she's alive and a girl. Now if only she had her sister with her to navigate this new world and her new responsibilities. Wait, she's here too? The passage of their souls between worlds may have doomed the Earth to apocalypse, but Alex and Michelle won't be there to see it and they have enough problems on their hands.

Chapter 9: Justice

Linus took a deep, ragged breath, his voluminous chest rising and falling, and pulled through the gate. He followed the drive to the spacious brick-paved area beside the entrance to the enormous house. Conrad’s gleaming new Porsche was there along with a massive pickup truck also sporting the decorative orange license tag with the big white paw in the middle. Seeing the truck, a flash of horror ran through his mind, seemingly from nowhere. Anna’s heart pounded in his chest, and Linus felt light-headed as he put the car in park, hands shaking.

Hi, my name was Stanley. I was born a male, but from as early as I can remember I felt like a girl inside. I remember playing dolls with a girl, Nancy, next door, at the age of four. I remember playing dress-up with my sister, Janice, at the age of five. We wore Mommy’s jewelry, put on lipstick, and tried to walk in her high heels. When in first grade, I would play with the girls during recess, instead of with the boys. They called me “sissy” and “pansy”, because they considered me to be effeminate.

What makes a loving mother call their son Timothy. It is one of those names that really doesn’t let one visualise a beefy six year old who can take on the World with a rapier wit and a fist to match.
