The Paper Moon Theatre was famous for making impossible things out of cardboard.

Its swords were cardboard. Its crowns were cardboard. Its castles were cardboard, painted silver and gold and blue, folded flat after every show and stacked behind the curtain like sleeping kingdoms.

The wigs were paper. The flowers were paper.

Once, for a winter fairy tale, the entire cast had worn snowflakes made from cut-up coffee filters and glitter glue.

Nobody who worked there was embarrassed by any of it.

Over the next few days, I took it easy and tidied up my apartment and did my laundry. The day of my first shoot I was out front when the car arrived. The driver was one of the cameramen from the previous session and he was bright and cheerful as he drove me to the industrial park and the studio.

I didn’t really know what to expect after the lit bed in the apartment so, when we went in, I was surprised. There were several sets; three of them bedrooms with big beds and one was an office with desks and all the right equipment.

Think about the consequences perhaps, but what other people expect of you should never come into the equation. Her wealthy Big mom is the daughter of a disgraced former CEO, and her dad is the first and only Tweener to serve on the Supreme Court. Connor’s mom and Beth’s dad were good friends while she was in the dimension, and they’ll quickly discover that they enjoy hanging out with each other. They’ll also discover that if either is going to survive to the end of the semester academically or as mature adults, they’ll need to help each other out. If not, Connor could quickly find himself on the one-way road to being adopted by some Big, and Beth might not be far from that fate either…

Torn from his own world and stuffed into the body of a villainess, facing the end of a doomed route he himself wrote, "Amelia" must navigate a world she really should know - too bad she was never great at worldbuilding.

Stuck in a world she (maybe) created, Amelia quickly finds that reality has filled in the details she failed to describe. The characters who were so flat when she wrote them now have nuance, and motives. The kingdom she wrote into existence is experiencing internal strife she never even thought about. And let's not even get into the complexities of the magic system, or the demon that forced her into this situation to begin with...

Oh, and then there's the fact that she's about to be arrested and executed... but surely she can come up with a way to write herself out of that, right?

...Right?
