I've been lurking here for a long time but writing fiction is not my thing. Recently, in the comments of a story, CindySadnya mentioned that she found me very good with words and hoped to check what I've written here, and this got me thinking. Connor Slane has grown up to be one of the brightest kids in his dimension and one of the most ambitious computer science majors at his top university. Now, thanks to an exchange program between his university and his mother’s alma mater, Emerson University in another dimension. Connor has the chance to forge his own path in computers and his other love, filmmaking. Having seen still images of their amazing holographic films, he hopes go to Emerson, and then return to build his own empire - and maybe even find his true self, as his mother did.

Beth Sylvester is a Tweener herself and another child of influential parents in the other dimension. Her wealthy Big mom is the daughter of a disgraced former CEO, and her dad is the first and only Tweener to serve on the Supreme Court. Connor’s mom and Beth’s dad were good friends while she was in the dimension, and they’ll quickly discover that they enjoy hanging out with each other. They’ll also discover that if either is going to survive to the end of the semester academically or as mature adults, they’ll need to help each other out. If not, Connor could quickly find himself on the one-way road to being adopted by some Big, and Beth might not be far from that fate either…

This story is a sequel to a story I wrote several years ago, "To the Mana Born." Readers are invited to revisit the earlier story (already here at Big Closet) to find out about what's gone on before.

Unbeknown to the delinquent Langdon Arden, his stepmother Elisa has sold his magical essence, which is called "mana," to a society of wizards. They use this essence to enhance their ability to cast magical spells. But mana is also the essence that causes a child to be born male. If the mana is lost, the male reverts to the human default, which is female. In most cases, the wizards generously make the new girl very beautiful so that her future life as a women will be more enjoyable. The story begins at the moment of Langdon's transformation.

Julie had worked to support me as I went through college, I now had my degree in computer science and had found employment as a tech working from home helping people with their newly purchased software. I liked the part about working from home, now I would be able to keep the house up while providing money for Julie to get her degree. To my surprise and her family, she decided to take vocational courses to become a cosmetologist. We talked several times about her desire, but she was adamant that this is what she wanted to do with her life. One of her friends had taken the courses and was now working as a hair stylist, making almost as much as I was and that was with me having a degree.

We went out for shopping, moving around between the three cities and never using the same supermarket more than once every three months. We had our weekends off and went out on our own. We listened, we filtered, and we built up a knowledge of the gangs, both criminal and right-wing. Whenever we had a new name, we added it to the filter list, so enlarging the database.

This was just a thought I came up with as I was pondering multiple dimensions and what gender might be like in them. What would happen if transgenderism were caused by bleed-through from another dimension? Impossible to prove, but what if?

Torn from his own world and stuffed into the body of a villainess, facing the end of a doomed route he himself wrote, "Amelia" must navigate a world she really should know - too bad she was never great at worldbuilding.

Stuck in a world she (maybe) created, Amelia quickly finds that reality has filled in the details she failed to describe. The characters who were so flat when she wrote them now have nuance, and motives. The kingdom she wrote into existence is experiencing internal strife she never even thought about. And let's not even get into the complexities of the magic system, or the demon that forced her into this situation to begin with...

Oh, and then there's the fact that she's about to be arrested and executed... but surely she can come up with a way to write herself out of that, right?

It all started one day when I was complaining about work again,
my wife Sara said if I was unhappy at work then I should stay at home
as the housewife and she would go to work. I said it sounded a good
