February Fantasy Fridays: 1

Coworkers William, an accountant, and Kateri, a video game artist, are dating. The
company believes in lots of team building activities including February Fantasy
Fridays to ward off the winter doldrums. These days involve costumes and team
building activities on each of the four Fridays in February. Kat is excited to
participate as a couple, William is less enthusiastic, but might eventually come
around.

Dear Readers, This is an apology and an explanation. I started Wildcat Fall earlier this year and realized it wasn't the story I wanted to tell. Here is a newly written chapter that integrates with the core of the original Wildcat Fall. This is the continuing saga. I would appreciate any feedback. Constructive criticism is important to me as I am rewriting this story. Thanks.

Timothy - A Halloween Fable
(Note - There is violence here, but it is not explicit)
What makes a loving mother call their son Timothy. It is one of those names that really doesn’t let one visualise a beefy six year old who can take on the World with a rapier wit and a fist to match.
I’d been in Trans-Sylvania for slightly less than a year when I got a private communication from the governors. At first, the governors had been only a vague concept to me. It wasn’t until I was working for Alyssa that I’d seen anything from the governors, and then it was second-hand stuff passed on from Alyssa. When I was an Enforcer, I’d seen group emails sent to everyone in Enforcement from the governors.
This time I was being called in for a private meeting with them, and I was told it wasn’t about my job, or at least, not my current one.
Chapter 4
Willow finished making the drinks, put the three mugs on a tray with some biscuits and took them through to the sitting room, where her parents were watching the late-night news bulletin. She had a text on her phone as she was carrying it in, so sat and read it. It was from the estate agent, telling her that they could inspect the property at two-thirty on Sunday afternoon. She replied with a confirmation.
“What was the call, love?”
Sometimes death isn't the end. Sometimes, people can come back with new lives and new powers. This is one of those times.

So imagine my surprise when I felt resistance. He was pulling away from me.

Author’s note: I missed the deadline for the summer romance contest, but the idea would not let me go. I love the challenge of writing to a random theme, and this story became the result. While I draw on real places and the names of historical figures, this novel is entirely a work of fiction. I hope you enjoy it as much as I loved writing it.

I had intended to leave this story after Part 6, but Part 7 was largely written, so rather than cutting off the story part way through I have uploaded it. I know the number of readers have been dropping steadily. That is understandable, but I do hope that many of you who have persevered have enjoyed the stories.

Chapter 8: Noble Prize
Alex had a terminal Cancer diagnosis and thought she would die before she got to be the girl she always was inside. Now if only she had her sister with her to navigate this new world and her new responsibilities. Wait, she's here too? The passage of their souls between worlds may have doomed the Earth to apocalypse, but Alex and Michelle won't be there to see it and they have enough problems on their hands.
